The PODS Association User Group Meeting

(Tulsa, OK – August 14, 2007) To all GIS, Utility, Government, and Oil & Gas Professionals:

The PODS Association would like to invite you to the Third Annual PODS User Group Meeting to be held at the Houston Marriott Westchase in Houston, TX, on September 27, 2007.  This is an ideal opportunity for the GIS Community to hear first hand from GIS Professionals about their experience with PODS as an Enterprise Database Model.   This will also be your opportunity to personally meet members of the PODS Board of Directors, Technical Committee, and the Executive Director.

   

The User Group Meeting will be Thursday, immediately after GITA’s GIS for Oil & Gas Conference.  On-site registration will be available from 7:30 – 8:00 am, and the meeting will be from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  The User Group Meeting is free to PODS members and $50 for non-members. 

Highlights include:

  • Introduction to PODS Seminary – two hour session developed by the Technical Committee
  • Two speakers from DOT discussing the new gas gathering rule and spatial accuracy
  • Committees and working group updates including
    • One Call Working Group
    • Oracle Spatial
    • PODS ESRI Geodatabase
    • Other committees and working groups
  • Presentations by users of the PODS model

Anyone interested in managing their company asset portfolio across all levels of their business enterprise should attend. Please plan to also attend the PODS Social at the Sherlock’s Baker Street Pub, next door to the Houston Marriott Westchase.  The social will be Wednesday, September 26, from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.  Appetizers are provided.
