President - JW Lucas, Enterprise Products Company

Mr. Lucas is a Senior Project Manager for Enterprise Products Company, a large pipeline operating company.  He is responsible for pipeline data integration, analysis, and distribution, as well as business analysis.  Mr. Lucas has worked in the Oil and Gas Industry for 20+ years, with the majority of that time spent supporting pipeline operations.

 

At Enterprise, Mr. Lucas has been part of the team responsible for implementing a PODS database for 50,000+ miles of domestic pipelines, including gathering & transmission, liquids & gas, offshore & onshore.  This implementation of PODS now broadly serves Enterprise in many business critical activities.

 

Mr. Lucas has served on the PODS Board of Directors for six years, including terms as Secretary, Vice-President, and now President.  He has also participated in PODS working groups and task forces, and has been a regular presenter at the annual PODS User Conference.

 

Prior to becoming a Project Manager at Enterprise Products, Mr. Lucas was a GIS/Drafting supervisor at El Paso Corporation, where his group supported Project Engineering, Compliance, Operations, and Commercial activities.

 

Mr. Lucas's current term on the Board ends in 2013.

 

 

Vice President - Rob Brook, Pacific Gas and Electric

After graduating from the University of Calgary in the late 1980’s, Mr. Brook started his own consulting company specializing in the environmental reclamation associated with pipeline and development projects. Shortly thereafter he joined a Canadian Engineering company as the Geomatics practice area manager and continued his involvement in pipeline construction and management projects. Over the following 20 years, Mr. Brook has been involved in many sides of the GIS and pipeline industries having served operators, consulting agencies, software and service vendors, and government and non-profit agencies in numerous capacities. He has extensive domestic and international experience in areas such as pipeline asset management, integrity management, and regulatory compliance. Over the past several years his focus has been on enterprise solution design and implementation and creating operational efficiencies through effective data capture and analysis.

 

Until recently, Mr. Brook was responsible for managing Esri’s involvement in the global gathering, transmission and distribution pipeline industries. In this role he was responsible for team and thought leadership, content development, organizational direction and customer advisement. Mr. Brook is currently the Senior Director of Gas Technology at PG&E. In this role his team is responsible for the technical architecture and IT delivery of all technology solutions used by the transmission and distribution business teams.

 

Mr. Brook's current term on the Board ends in 2012.

 

Treasurer - Kenneth Greer, CenterPoint Energy  

Kenneth Greer is the Mapping Leader of CenterPoint Energy Gas Transmission. He oversees the pipeline data entry into the PODS model database, system maps, inventory records and GIS support to the natural gas transmission and gathering pipelines owned by CenterPoint Energy. Mr. Greer has worked in the design drafting, inventory and GIS mapping departments.

 

Mr. Greer has over 38 years experience in the Gas Industry with pipelines and compressors. He has been involved with the PODS Association since 1999 and has served as Secretary, Vice President, President, and is the currently serving as PODS Treasurer.

 

Mr. Greer's current term on the Board ends in 2013.

 

Secretary - Elizabeth McCord, Enbridge

Ms. McCord is currently a GIS Project Manager for the Major Projects Group at Enbridge in Superior, Wisconsin. She was previously a Business Systems Specialist III in the Pipeline Integrity department at ONEOK Partners. She has 15 years of GIS experience, 10 years in the Oil and Gas Industry. She has experience as both an operator and a service provider in the pipeline industry. As a pipeline operator she has experience in Pipeline Integrity, Construction, and Operations.    

 

Ms. McCord was involved in the original PODS implementation of the ONEOK Partners interstate assets and later managed the migration of the intrastate assets into the same model. Ms. McCord has been a member of the ONEOK Partners Pipeline Integrity Management Program Committee for 5 years. During this time she has become involved in the Pipeline Integrity Risk Assessment process and has implemented multiple applications tied directly to their event-driven PODS database.

 

Ms. McCord has 13 years of experience working with Geographic Information Systems in multiple fields and 8 years in the oil and gas industry.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Geography from the University of North Alabama. 


Ms. McCord's current term on the Board ends in 2012.

 

Jeff Allen, Coler & Colantonio

Mr. Allen Joined Coler & Colantonio, Inc. in 1992 and heads up all Geospatial Technology and IT Infrastructure for the firm. Jeff has a BS in Surveying Engineering from the University of Maine and began his career at Coler & Colantonio Inc. working summers on various survey crews and manning a GPS shore station for our prestigious Boston Harbor Diffuser Project.

 

Over the past 18 years, Mr. Allen has continued setting the vision for geospatial applications development at the firm and his responsibilities now include creation, management and strategic planning of all software development efforts at Coler & Colantonio, Inc. These products have been successfully deployed to many of today’s energy giants and have enabled Coler & Colantonio Inc. to set itself apart from its competition. Mr. Allen's unique problem solving skills joined with his extensive knowledge of the Geospatial marketplace offer the firm, and our clients, an unparalleled resource to help them solve their complex data management issue.

 

Mr. Allen's current term on the Board ends in 2013.

 

Scott Blumenstock, Sunoco Logistics

Mr. Blumenstock is a Civil/Data Specialist at Sunoco Logistics, and has worked in the civil design/CAD/GIS field since 1987.  He managed Sunoco’s first GIS program which allowed Sunoco to bi-directionally edit their pipeline database and automatically generate alignment sheets using the AutoCAD software, VB and MS Access.  Mr. Blumenstock also has experience in ESRI and document management software systems.

 

After completing the project for Sunoco, Mr. Blumenstock started his own company and contracted to manage several large-scale GIS/Alignment sheet automation projects and data conversion projects in the oil and gas industry.

 

Mr. Blumestock has since returned to Sunoco Logistics, and is currently implementing an enterprise-wide GIS/Decision support solutions project there.   He is involved in all aspects of GIS development, deployment, training, and even the hands-on work of maintaining their GIS system.

 

Mr. Blumenstock is a strong believer in data standards, which streamline required processes, and allow more efficient information exchange as well as a more proactive response to regulation and other industry challenges.  He has served on the PODS Board of Directors since 2007, and has a strong commitment to the success of the Association.


 

Mr. Blumenstock's current term on the Board ends in 2012.

 

Ron Brush, New Century Software

Mr. Brush is President of New Century Software, a company he founded in 1994. New Century Software, based in Fort Collins, Colorado is a leading pipeline GIS software application and service provider in the oil and gas pipeline industry. Ron has more than 20 years experience in GIS designing and developing enterprise GIS data management and analysis applications, GIS consulting, and data integration services.

 

A Colorado native, Mr. Brush earned his B.S. degree in Mathematics from Colorado State University. He has completed the Stanford Executive Program for Growing Companies. He is also involved in several professional organizations including NACE and GITA and is actively participating in the pipeline GIS professional community.

 

In 1998, Mr. Brush helped initiate the PODS Association, and served as its President in 2001.  As an active member of the Association, Ron has lead advanced PODS training workshops and has participated on many PODS working groups including PODS Spatial, NACE/PODS ECDA data interchange, and the ILI data interchange working groups. He is also a past member of the APDM Steering committee.

Paul Herrmann, Chevron

Mr. Herrmann is a GIS Project Manager for Chevron Pipe Line Company (CPL). His current responsibilities include the coordination and management of GIS related projects, data integrity, support of ongoing GIS activities, and the enhancement and evolution of CPL’s GIS platform.

 

Mr. Herrmann has over 20 years in information technology and business process solutions experience, including over nine years in pipeline and GIS. Most of his career has been in information technology consulting for a variety of industries, but with a primary focus on oil and gas with over 14 years experience. He has been involved in a wide range of initiatives, including full lifecycle software development projects, procurement solution implementations, management consulting, and various GIS related initiatives. In 2002 his career shifted to GIS and the pipeline industry in particular, first from a consulting perspective and then as pipeline operator upon joining Chevron in 2008.

 

Mr. Herrmann holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.

 

Mr. Herrmann's current term on the Board ends in 2012.

 

Michael King, BP

Mr. King is the Pipeline Discipline Lead in the E & P Central Engineering Pipeline and Civil Team for BP America Inc.  His primary responsibility is to lead a team of engineers in support of timely and quality delivery of Technical Service, R&D and Continuous Improvement projects across the BP Group.   He currently leads BP’s Group wide Pipeline Information Management and Data Governance activities in support of the Risk and Integrity Management programs and Champions the standardization and implementation of PODS and GIS across the Group.

 

Mr. King joined BP in 2001 and has 37 years of experience in the Pipeline Industry.  His career path includes employment in various leadership positions with operating pipeline companies, engineering consulting firms, and oil & gas producers in domestic and international locations.  Mr. King has a B. S. in Industrial Technology from Lamar University.

 

Mr. King has served on the PODS Board of Directors since 2004 and as President of the Association for three consecutive terms 2007-2009.  He has also served as Chairman of the PODS Spatial work group.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) Foundation, member of the Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI) Onshore Pipeline Construction Modernization project and past Chairman of the IPLOCA Novel Construction Planning, Design, & Control workgroup.

 

Mr. King's current term on the Board ends in 2012.

 

Scott Moravec, Eagle Information Mapping

Mr. Moravec, President of Eagle Information Mapping, has over thirty-eight years of broad management and technical experience in petroleum exploration and production, pipeline and computer software.  He brings diverse management and leadership skills spanning work process re-engineering, short term financial forecasting; long range strategic planning; intense short-fused project planning, leadership, and execution; research and development planning and implementation; staff leadership, Human Resource management; seismic data acquisition, processing, and interpretation.  He possesses extensive technical skills and knowledge in the areas of geology, geophysics, petrophysics, pipeline and computer software and hardware.  He uses the practical application of advanced computer technology to solve business and technical problems.

 

Prior to joining Eagle, Mr. Moravec was the Manager of the Interpretation Research Department at Shell Oil Company.  His responsibilities included strategic planning and directions for all Exploration and Production GIS and database software development including application specification and technology selection. Additionally, he spent several years as Manager of Continuous Performance Improvement in Shell Oil Company.  In this capacity, he was trained in several specific Work Process Re-engineering techniques and led numerous Work Process Re-engineering projects. These included redesigning workflow and administration processes for all geology and geophysics data management and GIS and redesigning the organization and administration of a 500 person Exploration and Production Division of Shell Oil Company.

 

Mr. Moravec holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysics from Colorado School of Mines and a Master of Science in Geophysics from the University of Houston.

 

Mr. Moravec's current term on the Board ends in 2013.

 

Dominic Palazzolo, Williams Gas Pipeline

Mr. Palazzolo has been with Williams Gas Pipeline for 22 years, including 9 years in the Pipeline Operations & Engineering group, and 13 years in the Operations & Engineering IT Development & Support Departments.  In his current role as Account Manager, he provides consulting for the Gas Pipeline Operations & Engineering IT Business Processes, Requirements & Projects.  Mr. Palazzolo was part of the team that developed the original Williams GIS system, and the Williams event-driven database model.  This model was used as an initial contributor to the first PODS Data Model.  

 

Mr. Palazzolo has served as Project Manager over many projects for Williams Gas Pipeline during his tenure, including the migration of the Williams pipeline database to an extended PODS model, and the migration of vendor-based GIS application software.

 

Mr. Palazzolo holds a Master of Science degree in Software Engineering from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.  He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Houston, and an Associate degree in Applied Science from Central Texas College.

Janet Sinclair

PODS Association

 

Janet joined the PODS Association in April, 2010 as Executive Director.  She holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Utah, and has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.  Janet is a licensed Professional Engineer in California and Utah.

 

Before joining PODS, Janet supervised the GIS and Operations Engineering Departments of Questar Gas Management, part of QEP Resources, a leading independent natural gas and oil exploration and production company focused in the Rocky Mountain and Midcontinent regions of the United States.  At QEP, Janet also served as Senior Project Manager over several multi-million dollar natural gas projects, including the design and construction of natural gas processing plants and pipelines.
